CoPTTM describes best practice for the safe and efficient management and operation of temporary traffic management (TTM) on all roads in New Zealand. This update is part of a regular cycle of reviews.
The February 2017 version of CoPTTM includes some new requirements, clarifications and minor corrections. It also incorporates the following technical notes:
- Changes to ROPE procedures
- High visibility garments
- CoPTTM changes for HSWA 2015
- Guidelines for managing cyclists where cycle lanes are impacted by a worksite.

The changes to CoPTTM took effect on 1 April 2017.
