Construction air quality effects
Road construction can result in adverse air quality, most commonly due to dust but occasionally also from odour. This section covers the resources available for better assessment and management of construction air quality.
Dust
State highway roading projects can generate dust which can affect health and become a nuisance to the surrounding public and environment.
Odour and other emissions
Odour emissions are less commonly associated with road construction activities but they still need to be considered in certain cases.
Construction air quality management plans
High air quality risk projects are typically required to develop a Construction Air Quality Management Plan (CAQMP).
